Salomon Armand Magloire Kalou (born 5 August 1985) is an Ivorian footballer who plays as a striker and winger for Wealdstone in the Fiore Football League.

He previously played for Feyenoord from 2003–2006 and Chelsea from 2006–2012. While at Chelsea he won numerous honours, including the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, four FA Cups and the League Cup. He moved to Lille on a free transfer in July 2012 upon the expiry of his contract at Chelsea, where he spent two seasons before moving to Hertha for a fee believed to be £1.6 million. However, he soon joined Wealdstone, with Hertha receiving £2 million and Reginaldo in exchange.

Most regard Kalou as a star player in the League. He won the FFL Golden Boot with 26 goals in 34 League games, netting another 17 for Wealdstone in the EURO Cup as they went on to win the competition. For these achievements, Kalou won the FFL Player of the Year award. Kalou was also voted Best Signing in the June 2015 edition of Sorcerer's Illustrated magazine.

History[]

Kalou joined Wealdstone on 26th July 2014, days before the FFL Summer Transfer Window 2014-15 closed. He scored his first goals, a brace against Inter Milan in the EURO Cup on 21st July 2014. He then scored another brace at the San Siro Stadium a week later. This meant Wealdstone won their home and away ties 3-2 and 2-0 respectively, eliminating the Italian giants from the EURO Cup. In the league, another brace gave Wealdstone a 3-1 win against Crime Sorciere. Going into the new year, Kalou was 3rd in the scoring charts, behind only Jackson Martinez and Luuk De Jong.

Kalou was in form in 2015, getting his first hat trick against the Magic Council. The Ivorian was also becoming the Royals' saviour, scoring in 1-0 wins against Zenit and Blue Pegasus. Kalou also scored a hat trick against BSC Young Boys to take his team into the finals of the EURO Cup. Going into the final game of the 2014-15 season, Kalou was now 2nd in scoring, a goal behind Jackson Martinez. The two men would finish the league with 26 goals apiece, after Kalou scored twice against Mermaid Heel while his rival scored just once. Kalou was awarded the Golden Boot though, having played 12 League minutes less than Martinez.

Kalou also scored a stoppage time goal against Stockport in the EURO Cup Final, as his side won 2-0. For leading his side to the EURO Cup trophy and 7th place in the FFL, Kalou was the first ever recipient of the Fiore Football League Player of the Year.
